Supply Chain Manager


Itek Energy, LLC—a Bellingham, Washington company which manufactures solar energy modules—seeks an experienced supply chain manager to support the production of solar energy manufacturing equipment and systems.

Primary Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Manager retains ownership of the end-to-end supply chain process, from raw material supply to the delivery of product to customers. Create and deliver strategies that maximize customer experience, optimize inventory levels, and increase operational efficiency. Manage materials from forecasts to delivery, including day-to-day communication and management of partners to achieve order fulfillment. Establish supplier relationships to monitor, manage and deliver supply chain performance.  Communicate forecasts and orders and verify corresponding material availability to ensure on-time delivery of products. Drive solutions to eliminate any material shortages.


  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations
    • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
    • Safeguard warehouse contents and operations by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Achieve financial objectives of Supply Chain Department
    • Prepare an annual budget
    • Schedule expenditures and analyze variances
    • Initiate corrective actions when necessary
  • Manage Supply Chain Department staff
    • Plan, monitor, and appraise job results
    • Maintain staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Manage and execute all aspects of supply chain management process
    • Select suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate pricing
    • Ensure compliance to company, customer, and governmental procurement standards, requirements, and regulations
  • Manage all processes related to the external procurement of raw materials, parts, hardware, supplies, and services at minimum cost consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure acceptable quality, delivery capabilities, and performance
  • Develop and maintain a high level of communication with customers regarding status of Requests for Quotations (RFQs), customer quotations, and the processing of customer orders
  • Establish quantitative supply chain metrics to measure cost, quality and delivery performance of the company’s supply base
  • Maintain a continual improvement process for the Supply Chain Department
    • Adhere to lean principles including pull systems, 5S/visual management, and mistake-proofing to enhance processes and procedures in the area of purchasing, inventory management and sales fulfillment


  • Practical working knowledge of lean principles including pull systems, 5S/visual management, and mistake-proofing
  • Experience in MRP/ERP systems
  • Familiarity with PC-based software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of international and domestic material logistics
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple supply sources
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with planning and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to read and write in the English language
  • Have or obtain a forklift safety certification
  • Maintain current valid state issued driver’s license

Education/Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing production environment
  • Minimum 2 years in progressive responsibilities within materials group
  • 5 + Years distribution, warehousing, and service management experience
  • 3 + Years customer service experience
  • 4 + Years of supervisory experience in a production environment
