Itek Energy is committed to empowering communities both at home and abroad, and using environmentally sound practices in their own operations.

We have a commitment to not only saying we are doing the right thing, but actually demonstrating that we’re doing it.”     – Ian Hahn, Itek Energy

Itek partners with many local businesses, community programs, and educational institutions to make a positive impact on both our local community and our global home. By manufacturing our solar panels right here in Bellingham, Itek is creating local jobs and offering access to clean, renewable energy without all the waste of international shipping. We participate in the Towards Zero Waste program through Sustainable Connections, reducing our own waste through simple adjustments to our daily process.

Itek believes that sustainability and transparency are key to a thriving future. We seek out innovative best practices and find ways to incorporate them into our processes.

For example, we have Declared our product through the International Living Future Institute, setting an industry standard for solar panel production.

This Declare label lists all the components that make up our solar panels—as well as the location of their final assembly, life expectancy, and end-of-life options for disposal.

Itek Energy has been offsetting our own power consumption with a solar array on the roof of our Bellingham facility since 2012, with more to come! Because of the increased power demand following our rapid growth, Itek will be covering the entire south facing roof with an installation our very own solar panels, generating 80,000 kWh of solar energy every year.
