Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector will perform analysis of product: quality of parts, raw materials, and Out-of-Box Inspection of finished product—using calibrated equipment to verify that the product meets specifications. Completes documentation relating to material inspection and enters data into database/software systems. Communicates defect information to supervisors for corrective actions. Utilizes Daily Management (Coaching Kata) to achieve targets.

Quality Inspector will possess a good balance of hands-on technical competency, familiarity with quality systems and a good understanding of requirements for calibration, inspection criteria, manufacturing processes, and document control. The successful candidate will command great interpersonal skills and the ability to learn and apply new knowledge to resolve problems. The Quality Inspector participates in day-to-day business activities. This position reports to the Quality Manager

Duties

  • Support/assist the Quality Team, as part of a team or as a lead role using Daily Management (Coaching Kata)
  • Conduct Quality audits, sampling and/or testing
  • Perform proper measurement, instrument setup, inspection/analysis, and documentation of product
  • Ability to notice issues such as inconsistencies and lack of process improvement, notify supervisors and other production staff of problems, and assist in identifying and applying solutions to these problems
  • Support document management
  • Manage quality and calibration schedules of testing equipment
  • Analyze data and quality/production information to generate reports for management
  • Other duties assigned by management

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to expertly fulfill all requirements of the Quality Technician I position
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to reference technical resources (drawings, blue prints, manuals, etc.)
  • Ability to independently complete laboratory experiments to specified standards
  • Experience using measuring equipment, safety equipment and lab equipment
  • Ability to listen to, comprehend, and present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form, and presenting results in a variety of formats
  • Strong organizational skills to proficiently support Records Management by creating, storing and managing company records
  • Proven working experience in coordinating and managing multiple training sessions, on and off the production floor

Education Training and Experience

  • Minimum of two-year technical degree or three years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum one or more years of experience in a quality role, experience can be substituted for education

Quality Technician I

Possess a good balance of hands-on technical competency, familiarity with quality systems and good understanding of requirements for calibration, inspection criteria, manufacturing processes, document control, together with great interpersonal skills and the ability to learn and apply new knowledge to resolve problems. This position primarily focuses on inspection, data collection, data management and communication/data visualization.

Duties

  • Support/assist the Quality Team, as part of a team or as a lead role
  • Conduct Quality audits, sampling and/or testing
  • Data collection, data management and communication/data visualization.
  • Ability to notice inconsistencies or lack of process improvement and notify supervisors and other production staff of problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems
  • Develop a broad understanding of how value is created as well as the knowledge of specific people (tribal knowledge), processes and products. Each opportunity will build upon and complement past experiences.
  • Other duties assigned by management

Required Skill Set

Hardware:

  • Tools: calipers, micrometer, rulers, multi-meters, dial gauges, force gauges, etc.
  • Testing: laboratory glassware, balances, power supplies, force gauges, etc.

Software:

  • Programs: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts and Get and Transform) and Access
  • Statistics: Descriptive and statistical tools (Pareto Chart, Histograms, Control Charts)
  • Programming: VBA and spreadsheet tools
  • Communication and Data Visualization: Data presentation and knowing your audience

Knowledge:

  • Mathematics: Algebra, functions and graphing
  • Machine Learning: Supervised, unsupervised and coaching
  • Interpretation: Communicate blueprints, drawings and specification data sheets

Production Supervisor

Duties

  • Responsible for management of production and production staff within a given shift including, interviewing, training, and supervising of production staff
  • Oversees and responsible for the day to day operation of a production area
  • Reports and tracks daily progress to the Operations Manager to ensure goals are being met
  • Ensure quality control, safety, time management, and other programs, are being followed
  • Ability to perform all tasks associated with the production of product
  • Tests functional performance of completed electromechanical assemblies, using test equipment
  • Work with other teams to ensure improvements and efficiencies are being maximized
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required

  • Three years manufacturing experience
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure that quality standards are being met
  • Ability to work with people and good understanding of when to involve superior
  • Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in the English language
  • Watching indicators to make sure a machinery is working properly

Preferred

  • Two years previous production supervisor experience
  • Familiar with Toyota Kata management philosophy
  • Microsoft Office Programs
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Production Assembler 1

Performs duties related to the disassembly, assembly and repair of project units as required. Individuals with a natural mechanical aptitude and the ability to problem solve perform well in this position.

Duties:

  • Aligns, fits, and assembles component parts into completed units, using hand tools, fixtures, and templates
  • Verifies dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using tools provided
  • Operation of semi-automated equipment used to build assemblies and subassemblies
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Skills/Knowledge

  • Good decision making, time management and ability to prioritize are a required skill
  • High level of manual dexterity working with hands and small tools
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure that quality standards are being met
  • Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control
  • Ability to read and write in the English language

Education/Training and Experience

  • One or more years of experience in manufacturing environment helpful
  • High School diploma or equivalent
